# The Arweave layer: what Pindar's files say that the blockchain does not

Written 23 September 2026. Sources: the Arweave archive filenames (all 512), the zip archives and ArDrive uploads, and Pindar's 1 January 2022 working table reached through #272's link (pieces 1–300: Decimal, Hidden Type, a date column labelled "Strokes", and the bip-0039 index).

## The rule in each drop

**Skull (#1–128).** Filename = number + SubType + Type in lower case (`070_rainbow_shimmer.gif`). Primordial is written "ancient" (once "elder"). Squares get an `s_` mark, the protected Fibonacci primes get "smooth". Named and creature pieces get a private working name: The Moirai is `ancient_triplet`, The Artist `charred_skull`, The Geometer `scholar_skull`; whale, blob, spirit, beanie, heart, warrior, shark. Seed-list index = piece number, 1 to 128.
- Breaks: #21 holds "bean" not "action" (named Beanie to match); #57 holds "mistake" not "alpha"; #121 is the one square with no `s_`; #9 and #73 "gltich"; #128 "raindow"; #49 not zero-padded; **#28 is `ancient_glitch` but its published Type is Skull** (28 is not prime, so it cannot glitch; the published Type is the corrected one).

**Robo (#129–192).** Filename = position + six-digit binary (`14_001110.gif`). The working table's "Decimal" column is that binary read as a number. No seed-list run.
- Break: #143's filename is `14_00110.gif`, five digits, one "1" dropped.

**Spooky (#193–208).** Filename = the octal counter (`0o17.gif`). Seed-list indices are one clean block, 800–815.

**Solstice (#209–300).** The drop is a calendar. Sol (#209) is dated "Day" and Luna (#300) "Night". Between them are five rows of 18. Rows 2 to 5 each open with a tribute placed on a turning point of the year: #228 March 20 (spring equinox), #246 June 21 (summer solstice), #264 September 22 (autumn equinox), #282 December 21 (winter solstice). The other pieces in each row run forward through the calendar. Every non-tribute filename names one of eight season videos (winter, spring, summer, autumn and the four transitions, batch codes 04–10 and 44, all tagged 1221) and a frame number. Seed-list indices continue the skull run, 129–224.
- Break 1: every season video's frames run forward through the drop except the summer video, where frames 39, 53, 64 (**#240, #241, #242**, essences before, begin, behave) come before frames 12, 13, 14 (#243–245).
- Break 2: the filename season matches the date on 47 of 49 pieces. **#240** is a summer frame dated June 18 (before the solstice); **#297** is an autumn frame dated September 14 (before the equinox).

**Ghost (#301–444).** Filename = number + `ghostgan`, no exceptions. Uploaded individually to ArDrive on 31 January 2022; nineteen files (#307–344, #403, #440) were uploaded twice about three and a half hours apart with identical sizes, which reads as an upload retry.

**Act 1 Review (#445–512).** Filename = number + working group (reprise00–13, reprisetest, repriseline(s), skullall, reprisehighdef, repriseaa, reprisebs, the four tributes, reprisedgans for #512). The fourteen binary/hex counters are exactly the robo, crypto and spooky reprises.
- Breaks: no reprise07; reprisetest split into two runs (#467–469, #481–484); reprise11 (#470–472) numbered ahead of 09 and 10; #477 named reprise11 among the 09/10 files; #486 "repriselines" plural; #449 double underscore.

## What it teaches

1. The filename layer is Pindar's construction code, and it is consistent: each drop has one rule and a small number of breaks.
2. The breaks are where the published labels were corrected (#28, #32, #119), where a word was moved (#21, #57), or where the order was disturbed (#240–242, the Review groups).
3. "Before" (#240) is the one Solstice piece whose file and date disagree AND the first of the only out-of-order frame block. The next two essences are "begin" and "behave".
